After the Customer Signs
When the customer accepts the proposal, the quote records it and the documents that prove it appear on the quote. This article shows an estimator where to find the executed document and its certificate, and what the quote does and does not allow afterwards.
What the Quote Shows
Section titled “What the Quote Shows”Open the quote. Its header now reads Won and “Signed for {amount}”, followed by three links:
- executed document — the proposal as the customer signed it, with the signature block completed.
- certificate — the signing certificate: who signed, when, from where, and the document’s digest, one line per act.
- The sealed exhibit, by its name — for example Master Subscription Agreement — the terms that rode with the proposal, exactly as sealed.
The quote is locked: it is the record of what went out, and it no longer takes edits (the screenshot shows the header as it reads after signing).
The Record of the Send
Section titled “The Record of the Send”Delivery record in the header keeps the send’s history: who received the link, when, the Carrier id of each message, and what the customer did with each link. The quote’s own record lists the phases in order — Delivered (“Delivered — the mail provider accepted the message”) and Signed (“Signed — the customer accepted the document.”) — each with its time. See Reading the Delivery Record.
Changing a Signed Quote
Section titled “Changing a Signed Quote”A signed quote is not edited. To change the deal, open Revisions to see the quote’s history, and start a new revision from a quote that has not been signed, or a new quote for the new scope. Revise… is offered on a sent quote only until the customer has accepted.
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”The quote says Won but I see no document links
Section titled “The quote says Won but I see no document links”The executed document and the certificate are stored a few seconds after the customer signs — the signing page itself says “This takes about fifteen seconds. Keep this page open.” Reload the quote.
Our side was not emailed the signed copy
Section titled “Our side was not emailed the signed copy”The Send dialog states who is told when the customer signs. If it read “When the customer signs, nobody on your side is copied on the signed receipt — change this under Quote Settings.”, add the notify addresses under Quote settings before the next send.
